Protein Pancakes

Protein Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup whey protein powder (vanilla)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups skim milk
  • egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margerine
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Preparation

1) In a large bowl, combine all of your dry ingredients (baking powder, protein powder, flour, salt). You’ll wantt to then add your milk and eggs and mix the batter until it is smooth. Alternatively, you could use a stand mixer to get the best results. The smoother the pancake mix the better the result!
2) Heat your pan to medium. Very important that you don’t heat your pan too high or else you’ll end up with burnt pancakes very quickly!
3) Pour the batter into the pan, aiming for between 1/4 and 1/2 cup of batter for each pancake. They’ll expand, so beware if you’re making multiple pancakes at a time. Flip when you see bubbles, you’ll all finished when both sides are a golden brown.
Serve this dish with fruit for the best results. You’ll be sure to come back to this recipe in the future – it is a great way to have an alternative to the classic protein shake for breakfast. Enjoy!
